I seem to have lost a small box of parts for my XJ750MK, including the hardware that attaches the muffler to the rear foot peg support bracket. The parts manual doesn't show clearly what goes there. I thought it was a shoulder bolt, washer, bushing, support bracket, bushing, muffler, oval nut. Can anyone clarify this?
    Thanks!

So there should be two rubber bushings, right? One on each side of the footrest support bracket. Your pictures shows a hex cap screw. Is that the stock screw for your bike?

I don't think the hex screw is stock I will check on my other 750 I'll also remove a plug Mount to make sure of the exact amount of parts

Thanks, I do appreciate that. Sorry if I don't respond quickly, I got a lot of things going on in my life besides this. From searching eBay, it looks like there isn't a shoulder bolt, but a regular one. The bushing has a inner metal tube that connects the inner bushing to the outer bushing. Is this correct? Thanks for your help!

so a new development the 1983 muffler mount is different from the 1982 mount which i posted a photo of earlier in this post

83 has a sholder bolt with 23 mm head that goes through the foot rest bracket.
the foot rest bracket has 2 allan head bolts At 9:00 and 3:00 position to this cavity. those 2 bolts hold a plate against the foot rest bracket on the muffler side.
then there is a rubber cup which goes between the plate and muffler . the sholder bolt goes through the cup.

    assembly.jpg bolt.jpg rubber.jpg
bolt goes through washer into footrest bracket the rubber cup goes over bolt through muffler and then the nut.
the cup has a built in washer which goes up against the muffler

THANKS! All I'm missing is the washer for the shoulder bolt. It seems the MMs have a different mount than the regular Maxims. I thought for sure there would be a rubber bushing under the Bolt head and washer, but there isn't. I'll measure the washer I have and find one that fits.

No, all of the 1983 models mount the muffler in the same manner; the 1982 Maxim and the 1983 (all) Maxim models are where the difference exist.
