    Hi all
another new user. I have been reading the forums for quite a while now. So I thought it was time to join in. I have recently got myself a '83 XJ900F that has been stood for about three years in someones back garden, It was a freebie so I couldn't resist. The last time it was ridden, the previous owner said that it backfired then stalled, and has not started since. I will update you on my progress. I have called it Lucky (I Name my bikes because they become part of my family) because if it wasn't for a chance meeting it was ready to go to the boneyard.

Well welcome Wolfie, I hope you get as much use out of this site as I do. Enjoy the work on your bike, and keep us up to date. By the way, what part of the NW are you from?

I Am from a town called Warrington, It is between Manchester and Liverpool. The work on the bike has started with stripping out the loom, I am waiting for a replacement off E Bay. The original has been butchered by someone with broke and unconnected wires all over the place.

Welcome to another brother from across the pond. Glad to hear the old girl will have new life breathed into her. I hope your wiring endevors go smoothly. Do ask questions as the need arises.

Well the problems didn't take too long to show themselves.
Firstly the frame No is 31A which makes it a '83 XJ900. But the Engine No is 29R Which I think makes it a 750cc.
So what I have is a XJ900 with a 750cc engine. Does anyone know if this will cause me any problems with the 31A loom? I don't think it will but any help would be appreciated
