yamaha xj650 carbs

    Hello all
    I own a Yamaha XJ 650 pre yics model 1981 model 4K0.
    My friend just purchased a Yamaha XJ 650 steering head also Pre yics model, but its a USA model RJ.
    Does anyone know of the difference between the carburetors.
    EG are the same carbs but with different jetting etc.
    Any help would be grateful, if you as we can't get the RJ to run properly and was thinking of just using UK carbs.

    Carbs should be the same ,different jetting US spec carbs were jetted for emissions and were lean as I recall think the UK carbs were two sizes larger . Cheers
