Seat height

    Anyone know of aftermarket seat that will be lower than stock 1982 xj650 rj seat? I love this bike but too heavy, too tall for me I am 79 and not as strong anymore.

    you could remove the seat cover and cut down the foam but that would be a hard ride.
    maybe find some good padding for the seat.

    I’m in Kitchener-Waterloo I have a seat you can have to experiment like @XJ550H has suggested.
    You could mount a Maxim 16” rear wheel and this lowers the rear about 3/4”. You would need to raise the forks 3/4” in the fork crowns to keep the bike running level.

    there were aftermarket seats back in the 80's but doubtfull anyone sells them for a bike that old anymore.

    take simmy up on his offer then create a seat with a lower profile when you figure out what you like you could probally get a local upholster to make a cover for it
