Just found the site and thought I'd say hi!

I have just bought a 1982 XJ 650 Seca?? It was originally a California bike but was imported during the 90's to England.

It runs and is road legal but looks a bit tatty. I bought it with my brother to be a bit of a project and we plan to strip it, repaint it and put a few subtle mods (tidying up body lines etc). Anyway this is what it looks like at the min......

Welcome JimGTI. Nice bike; a lot like mine (see my gallery). I'm sure you'll have loads of fun getting it tidy. You might want to use this frame number lookup to figure out the exact XJ650 model, if you haven't already.

Looks good JimGTI. I do like the looks of an '82 Seca 650! I actually bought mine for the price (all I could afford), but have always liked the cafe style appearance of the bike. Now I am really in love with it and have only ridden it twice! But...I did get the title today, so should have tags on Monday!

You know, I never noticed before the Secas having that long fender flap thingy under the taillight before.

This is coming from someone who considers it a mortal sin to modify these bikes: Looks much better. Good idea.

That's b/c most of them end up getting hacked off at the licence plate.
