Looking for some info on installing a camshaft into a 82 xj650 Maxim.

Just replaced the cylinder head. I heard if not done right you risk bending the valves.
Anyone have a write up on how to do this the right way?

I recommend getting a FSM (factory service manual). It details the process of installing the cams, the chain, timing, resetting the cam tensioner etc. I've done it a few times and I wouldn't attempt it without having that in front of me. And yes you can bend the valves if you do it wrong as these are interference type motors.

I hear ya, but I was hoping to avoid the wait time. On most bikes I've worked on I've been about to find the necessary info needed online. Kinda hoping that would be the case here.
