    Hi folks. It's been a while since I've posted here. Many miles put on my Seca since then. Anyways, my fuel gauge has seemed to stop working.
    There's about 2 gallons in it now, will fill the tank completely tomorrow, but the Atari says it's empty and flashes the warning light.
    Is there a way to test out the reostat in the sensor? Could it be stuck? It was sitting for 3 months with fuel stabilizer in it. Any help is appreciated
    Also my dad found the original prepurchase dealer checklist and Yamaha warranty paperwork from when he bought the bike from the dealer! Will post pics in appropriate forums to share.

    Found this from an old post. I believe this is a part number for a 550 Seca, but I'm curious as if the ohm Ratings are going to be the same and I can test it out tomorrow?

    Pull it and clean it.
    Drain the tank first though, and get a gasket from @chacal

    Testing: move arm slowly from full to empty and observe ohm values:
    Full = 25 ohms
    Empty = 300 ohms

    Okay thank you Chacal for the info. I took the tank off and took my multimeter out. I tested off of the ground terminal and power terminal right at the sensor. Had 0 ohms. I noticed however as I scraped at it with my pin testers, it would show a reading. So I took a green scotch bright and cleaned the ground tab and now I have 70 ohms at about 1/3 tank of fuel and the dash indicator is now functional.
    What could've caused this layer of gunk? It didn't look like corrosion, just more like a tarnished brass I guess.

    It was corrosion. That's what tarnish is.
