    Hello all,

I have a friend with an 82 Maxim 750. His plug caps have ohm readings all over the place and need to be replaced. It seems to be more and more difficult these days (especially post Covid…) to find non-resistor plugs. So I would like a few opinions/ input on switching to non-resistor caps and resistor plugs.
    Thanks,
    Steve

As long as the total resistance per plug remains the same, you can use resistor plugs with non-resistor caps. Altering resistance also alters the spark duration, which can be a good thing if you are going racing.

That was my assessment as well. Most plugs I’ve ohm’d out fall between 5-8 so I figured they should be fine.
Thank you for the quick response. My friend really wants to get back riding.
