This was about 6 years ago before I had any technical know-how. Second was a 84 Honda Magna 700, almost ran but it’s such a technical bike I traded for my current bike.

1982 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim. Cleaning carbs currently, just replaced the petcock. Compression is great. Coils check out. Should run as soon as I finish here with the carbs.

my questions: will a 650 Seca Turbo 4-1 stock header fit my Maxim? I found a used pair and I like the idea of a 4-1 without dropping $600 on a Mac exhaust. All im curious about is clearance. I can secure from there and planning on running my own pipes and muffler.

Second Q: No power getting to my headlight connector. Everything else works, taillight, blinkers, etc. just the headlight. Fuse looks good…???

Painting gas tank and panels. Prepping now, any color suggestions? My XS650 tank was orange with stripes. Pic attached. I loved the look. Lmk what y’all think.

    TIA!!!!!

Nope. Your stock exhaust looks good though?

The headlight won’t turn on until the engine is running (or spins over fast enough to generate power and latch relay).

The Turbo 4-1 collector will mount to the bottom of the engine just like the OEM Maxim collector.
Your Maxim head pipes will even insert into the Turbo collector.

However, your LH pedestal for the centre stand will prevent the Turbo collector from fitting and would need to be sawed off to fit.

Hmm. I can do that. These pipes are only $50, so can’t hurt to try. Much appreciated
