    I bought a non running ‘86 xj700 Maxim X and kinda wish I didn’t… when I first checked it out it did crank over slow, figured it was the battery, I hem haw’d and finally bought it because I’ve rescued a few before, but, by the time I got it and got it home I found it would not crank over and also found the spark plugs were not screwed in.. I think rain water got down in the cylinders and rusted more since I first checked it out, oh boy…
    Today I did the final try to get it turning, after I’ve poured oil and penetrating oil into the cylinders for about three weeks.. nothing, it’s not budging..

    Keep soaking it. Use a 50/50 mix of Acetone (or Diesel) and Automatic Transmission Fluid (heat it before pouring it into the cylinders, and don't skimp on how much you use each time. 1/4 cup per will do wonders). Give it a few more weeks of trying. If it still doesn't free-up then start selling parts of of it.
    Also keep in mind that stuck rings aren't the only thing that could be keeping her from spinning.

    Try to save it !! I would try a 50/50 mix of ATF and Acetone let it sit . I would try to rock it at the crank , remove left engine cover put a 19mm wrench on crank bolt . KMOE beat me to it lol

    Depending how the rest of the bike looks it might be worth saving. I mean you will have to pull the heads, cams and then the jugs over the winter. Have them honed a bit and make sure all is nice and clean. You should get new rings and make sure you measure them in the jugs so they fit right.

    All depends on how much energy you have and the tools and working area. It is a great way to learn the bike. 5 valve head on them and they are quick.

    I was thinking of using;
    -Save The Secas (STS)
    -The Seca Whisperer
    -The Seca Necromancer
    -Secas 'R Us

    Now I just need to sell a couple of the 900 Seas and find a 650 Seca to resurrect.... Polish_20220722_214218495.jpg

    I don't think that is a race that anyone will be winning any time soon.
