    Good evening to all,

To introduce myself: I'm new to XJs but I've been riding a more recent yamaha model for 5 years in France (please excuse my english by the way...)

I recently bought a 1982 XJ650 with which I rode all summer without any problem.

Lately, my tank emptied without me noticing it, and I ran out of gas. When I put gas back in, I realized that the fuel line was pierced. Do you think I can change this fuel line by myself with basic mechanical skills? Also, do I need to get a special hose ?

    Thank you for help !

Order it on Amazon, motorcycle fuel line or just go to a auto parts store, take a open end wench and measure the outside diameter of the hose get some new hose clamps.

Probably one of the first jobs I had to tackle on my bike ages ago. The biggest thing is getting the correct inside-diameter hose to fit the barbs. And it MUST be fuel line hose. While you're at it, you might want to put in an inline fuel filter as the screens in the tank/petcock aren't always intact.

Edit to add: And your English is WAY better than my French, so no worries there. :D
