Heavy rain overnight, coupled with a couple days continuous light rain, meant the old bogland across the way wasn't capable of taking any more and flooding occurred.
Pain in the arse, all around.
The bikes were safe, and bonus, the XJ is still on the ramp, so was well clear.

Ugh, sucks. We recently had a sewer backup due to huge storm in our finished basement so I feel your pain. Good luck with the cleanup.

The club that I used to tech at was flooded out after a torrential rainstorm here. Main club was on the basement level. Shallowest that the water came up to in the basemet would have been up to my nose (I'm about 5'7"), deepest spot was the electrical room (lowest spot in the basement) at about 12'. When the high water levels from the load in area (shallowest) burst through the double doors into the main bar area, the inrush of water was enough to move a 4x10 coin-op pool table about 8 feet and spin it about 90 degrees, then the water knocked over the closest speaker stack (JBL SR4731x over 3x Martin 115 "kick" bins)

The bar lost about $60k in production gear, plus about $10k of my own gear as a result of the flood. Almost didn't re-open afterwards. Didn't get set up again to be able to do any production again until the fall of 2019. Then the freakin pandemic came along, causing more hardship for this business owned by a local family.

Ownership changed over last year after the family patriarch passed away. He successfully ran this 35+ year old business into the ground in less than a year.

Picture was taken the day after the torrential rains. Screenshot_20221029-215911_Facebook.jpg

Over the past couple of days, discovered a very nice XS Seat and a GS850 crankshaft got submerged.
Taking appropriate action, I may have retrieved them from doom. The seat is drying out and the crank is still lovely and smooth in its new coating of fresh oil. It's snugly wrapped away in some plastic liners with a copious quantity of fresh engine oil to keep it company.
