Has any one ever checked the efect of putting all the bolt ons from a Seca 650 onto a Maxim Frame. Is the frame geomatry the same? I know the rear wheel is larger on the seca and the fork legs are straight not offset. but is the basic frame the same?

I'm assuming you are swapping over to a 650 Maxim of a similar year when I make the following statement:
I will say that most if not all hardware will swap over. There might be an odd length here and there, such as the diameter of the motor mount bolt, but you should be able to pull it off without problems.
As for swingarms, your guess is as good as mine.
    My two cents.

I have a similar question. I want to put the luggage rack from a 650 maxim on my 650 seca. I haven't got the rack in my hands yet though. But, it will fit right? The frames are pretty much identical aren't they?

Sorry Bap, the rear frames are quite a bit different. I would not expect anything to swap over.

I think all XJs with the exception of the 550 Seca were LH side shaft drives

I have the rack now. It actually fits the frame OK but it doesn't fit with the Seca seat and taillight. So it will take a little customization to get it to fit. Rather than mess up the seat, I think I will make a bracket that will allow the rack to mount about 6" to the rear.
