I need a throttle tube for a 1982 Seca Turbo. The Yamaha part #5G2-26240-00-00 is unavailable. Surely this is not specific to this bike?

Does the throttle tube from another model Yamaha also fit this bike?

LOL I guess I asked the wrong question. Does anyone know of a throttle tube that will work in place of Yamaha part #5G2-26240-00-00?

I guess I just assumed that with a long list of bikes using this unavailable part, someone must make a generic replacement.

Yamaha throttles have more resemblance than the other motorcycle brands. So other model's throttles would be convenient to fit on your toy. As I don't have any personal experience of YAMAHA but one of my friends had so, might be it will work for you as well.

Seems like something @chacal might stock.

Also would be worth a post in the “wanted” section. Somebody probably has an extra sitting around.

Worst case, it would also be an easy job for reproduction on a 3D printer if you have an example or know the dimensions.

Bunch of used ones on eBay, although seem overpriced to me. Maybe try a wanted ad on here for a used one?

I think the 5G2 tube is a little bit longer than the HCP7373 tube.

I bought a quick turn throttle tube from Murray's Carbs and it worked fine until I destroyed it trying to remove a grip.

Today must be my lucky day! Worked on the Turbo today and was looking through the parts I got with the bike and found a new set of genuine Yamaha grips for the bike. The left grip includes the throttle tube!

Yeah but not so often, to some extent spare parts of different models of same company can be fixed but not all of them.
