HI! Paul from Iowa here. I am back after a few years away. I am having trouble getting parts ordered from XJ4EVER. I emailed Len and got a reply but there has been no answer to my replies and emails for the last month. I would really like to order some parts from him. Is there a new process or something going on I’m not aware of? He is such a fantastic source of parts and info that I want to keep supporting him. The parts are for my ‘82 Seca Turbo that I really want to get back on the road. Spring is coming!

That's odd. I would double check the email address - info@xj4ever.com

Also, you can get get Len's attention by tagging him on this site - @chacal is his handle. Or send direct message to @chacal on this site.

Hey Paul, we're still here (and "there").......I saw an e-mail from you on 02/13/2023 and responded to that one on the same day, but have not received any other e-mails from that account..........you might want to to look in your "spam" or "junk" folder on your e-mail account and see if gmail dumped it there for some unknown reason.

Let me know, if not, I can re-send or use this website's "Conversation" feature to send you the info again.

check spam every day. not there. i got your initial reply but you are not getting my replies back to you for some reason. there have been at least 5. i will try to email you from scratch again with my parts list. thank you so much for replying here, your parts list is just unbelievable and some of the dealers i do business with from my business are waiting to hear how it goes because they may start sourcing parts from you they can’t get from yamaha any more. this is for my personal bike, not one of my customers thankfully, as i would have a hard time explaining my delay. many thanks, i will email in the next day or so. if that doesn’t seem to go through i’ll note it here just so we can figure out how to get things through.

Hi Paul, got it, and, I then re-sent the original February 13 e-mail with all of the parts info that you had requested.

Hey Paul, got your reply, so I did send you an order summary, that should have all the info (part total, shipping costs and options, etc.) . Let me know if it arrives. Fuel t-fittings for the Turbo carbs will be a bit of time, we're the low man on our machine shop's totem pole.......we're just happy that they'll still accept low-quantity orders!

I had the same issue. My initial contact a couple months ago went through and got a reply with parts info but all other attempts after that to place the order did not receive a reply. Ended up ordering some of the stuff out of the UK.

well now you know you can contact len at xj4ever through here if something isn't working right and he will bend over backwards to take care of you. i'm afraid he might have stayed up way late getting this sorted out last night! (i think he is one time zone further east/ahead of me)

Yes, glad we finally got it wrapped up, I needed my beauty rest!

Mark, my apologies for whatever happened, Like you noted we received (and replied to) your initial e-mail and I can't find any other e-mails from you (using that same e-mail account) besides that one.

Occasionally we have problems with @gmail.com accounts, although typically the problem is people with gmail accounts not receiving the e-mails that we send to them.....either they end up in their junk or spam folders or, even worse, seem to disappear into the bowels of the world wide web. At one time it was so bad that we started a thread about it to alert people who were wondering why they weren't getting replies:

    https://www.xjbikes.com/forums/threads/g-mail-users-alert.127047

It got so bad at one point in time that we had to respond to every single inquiry from gmail accounts from a different (personal) e-mail account with a note that said "check your spam or junk folders" for the reply from info@xj4ever.com ............ note the we don't use gmail; our e-mails are thru our own domain hosted by GoDaddy.

We reached out to GoDaddy and a few other techs (both on this website and others) and no one could explain what was wrong, or what to change. One person remarked that it may be some filtering done by gmail or the recipients own ISP since most of our reply e-mails had a lot of the "$" symbols in it, and for some providers, that flags such an e-mail into a spam/junk folder.......although this seemed odd, since all of these e-mails are REPLIES to an initial contact to us by the recipient (and you'd think that a spam filter would recognize that, since the original "request" e-mail is always appended to the reply e-mail from us).

We never did figure out what was going on, but all of a sudden the issue disappeared (this was about 3 years ago). Since then, there' s only been a handful of instances of this situation occurring....again, always on gmail accounts........and as the situation with Novascotiamark indicates, it may not always be an outgoing e-mail problem, but also an incoming e-mail problem.........great.

If anyone has any ideas, we're all ears, thanks!

Thanks for the info. There was nothing in the spam filter on my end and I tried sending a new email as well as replying to the initial thread. The new email was the same address as the initial contact that went through fine. Glad to hear that things are still rolling. Its a great resource for parts. If the same thing happens when I order again would the best course of action be to address it over this forum?

Just use the "Start a Conversation" feature on this website.........click on our user name, and it opens a box with various options; one of the options is the "conversation" (private messages thru the website software), click that link, and then just write us a message. As an example, I just started a conversation with you.
