    Folks,
A few pics of my XJ650 that I just built from the remnants of two bikes. First time trying any fibreglass work (seat unit). Chopped the frame and a friend welded a hoop on, removed surplus brackets, etc. Overhaul and re-bore of engine, cut front mud guard, rewired and relocated electrics, and finally a hand made exhaust!

Maybe not everybody’s choice but definitely a one-off and ‘built not bought’! My back hurts thinking about sport bikes and cafe racers but I do think they are cool.
Any idea on what your weight ended up at?
    Where is the battery?

Wasn't a big bore just went .75mm oversize to clean up the bore. Hand made exhaust was simply a case of cutting the damaged silencer off the original and welding on a bit of stainless pipe. Fitted a small baffle off Ebay so pipe didnt look empty if law man looked in the end!!!

Sorry no idea of weight. Battery is under the seat hump, fitted a smaller Lithium battery - physically smaller but enough power to turn her over

Ha ha, I’ll be ok, it has a little baffle stuck in the end of the pipe. Doesn’t do much but if somebody does look in the end at least it doesn’t look like a straight through bit of pipe!!

Stumbled on this looking for ideas about lithium batteries for my XJ550 project. Nice work, definitely some inspiration to be had here.
