What should I do next?

    I bought an '82 XJ750 last summer and spent the past few months stumbling my way to getting it running (mostly thanks to this forum). The work included: cleaning/rebuilding the carbs, redoing the entire front braking system (MC to pads), fork seals, rear brake, new headlight, and new upper and lower yokes. The bike has less than 11,000 miles on it. I have a few obvious things I need to fix like my neutral light is always on and the tach doesn't work. Other than that, what are the general maintenance things I need to plan on doing in the near future?
    She rides really and shifts well and sounds good too. Sometimes when I put it into 3rd gear and am speeding up the bike randomly loses power for a second or so but then is fine and it doesn't do it again for awhile.

    Can't thank y'all enough for the knowledge you've shared, either on my posts are on others. I don't have much knowledge of this stuff so getting the bike running after it sat for 30 years was a huge feeling of accomplishment. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow!

    Is the neutral light wire insulation damaged and grounding on the frame or engine?

    I don't think so, cause it used to be correct and work fine. Might have had a connection not fully plugged back together from when I had another electrical problem I was trying to figure out.

    On the list should be new tires if the old ones are old, most people dont ride on ones older than a few years. While you are doing that, you can check the wheel bearings, make sure they are good.

    Did you do oil & filter change?
    Did you replace the drive shaft oil. (next on my list)
    When you did MC & Caliper rebuild, did you replace break lines? Mine were original and I cut one open and man, was it falling apart.

    Oil and filter have been changed, and new SS brake lines as well.

    I'll add the drive shaft oil to my to-do list!

    I dont know much about them, but I know there are rubber flaps inside the engine that are supposed to let out crankcase pressure, and that over time they stiffen. Not sure if it is a big deal, but thats the last thing that comes to mind when thinking about old rubber parts that dry up over time...

    Crankcase breather recycles a small amount of fuel air mix that gets past the piston rings into the crankcase. It's behind the gear shift cover.
