    Hello,

Just picked up a 1982 XJ750 Maxim. Will be my next project. Does anyone know what this is for and if it is supposed to attach to something? Just going through the bike and saw this dangling. Not sure where it goes?

    Thanks

It looks like a battery sender which pushes into the battery plug and monitors fluid levels. Not essential.

There's a how to on here that tells you how to replace it with a resistor to fool the low battery light. Good luck on your project!
