Anyone have their clear coat "crack" like this before? We're you able to fix it without sanding it all off? IMG_20230507_134520.jpg IMG_20230507_134520.jpg IMG_20230507_134526.jpg

Did they really clear coat these bikes?
UV light cracks clear coat. All depends on the quality of clear coat and time/heat.
Try cutting paste or even a wet magic eraser in an inconspicuous location.
I have done cars/boats and magic eraser is like cutting paste. you have to then polish before waxing. Magic Eraser is like a cheap test if you already have it, but cutting paste in the long run may be cheaper and yield better results.
I've taken out plenty of clear coat scratches in cars of mine with a buffer. Some by hand and many with a makita constant RPM buffer.

    Good Luck.

Try buffing it out, worst case SprayMax offers an aerosol 2K Glamour Clear product - you can get it off Amazon or at an automotive paint supply store. One can did three coats on the tank on my XJ650. Wet sand the tank with 600 or 800 grit paper to eliminate the scratches/cracks then shoot one light coat, one medium, then one heavy ten minutes apart. Wait a day or two for it to cure then wet sand with 800 or 1000 grit paper to smooth then polish and it's like a factory finish.

This was from Raptor 1K clear spray paint from AutoZone. I probably didn't allow enough time between coats and probably started the sanding/polishing too soon. The cracking took place over the winter in covered outside storage. It only cracked on the gas tank which was full of non-oxy premium fuel. Pictures of the metallic base paint, translucent red and the clear cans attached along with a before and after of the paint job (had been sitting in barn for 34 years). The upper left tank picture is the finished clear coat, upper right is after wet sanding with final grit of 1500. Lower right is after rubbing compound, and the lower left is after polishing compound. I'm not sure if I ever waxed it.

By cutting paste do you mean running compound or polishing compound? Also, did you mean the white foam Magic Eraser?
