Hi all. I have a Maxim X I'm ready to let go. It was professionally restored 3 years ago. I originally had one in 1994 that I put 50,000 miles on and it was totaled in southern France when a driver took me out. I looked for a nice one for a a number of years when I found this guy that had a hobby of restoring Fazer's and Maxim X's. It's in very nice condition, new correct paint, carbs rebuilt, ceramic coated pipes, valves to spec etc., aftermarket single exhaust. I can post photos if anyone's interested. I found the bike was awesome when I was 193 lbs, but at 250 (and 30 years older), I'm finding myself favoring my FJR. The bike and I are in Connecticut. Happy to answer any questions. I'll be sad to see her go.

Replacement shocks and mirrors? Is that a 1985 tank badge?

I believe that I might have the original rear shock and have some other extras - front forks, wheels and a few other things. The tank badge is not vintage 1985 - the restorer had trouble finding them. But I have original tank badges from 1985 that I took off my original Maxim X which I totaled overseas.

You didn’t mention the non-stock exhaust???? Or the airhead tach??Aghast!!!:D:D

But, he does have the rare-option tall backrest, and the hard-to-find-except-for-me rare option engine guards...... lol

To be honest, I didn't look that closely and mentioned the obvious things I saw. Ole eagle eyes fiddles caught the rest. My X had the high backrest also.

I paid $2850 for it newly restored. Probably less now. Yeah, I guess it's not 100% correct, but it was tastefully done and rides the same as my original one.
