Bike is starting and running well exc for a raspy exhaust when initially starting off or cruising at low rpm (35ish)
When you giver she goes like a raped ape and sounds smooth. It’s just the raspy/gargling type exhaust tone and slight initial bogging.
After I did the carbs a shop synced them and made some adjustments. He did say the #3 carb float level may need adjustment and running rich. He didn’t want to tack on the cost of removing the rack so left it be.
Could a float level out of spec cause the above?
    It’s running so well otherwise.
May pull the rack in the off season and have everything rechecked.
    Thoughts appreciated

    Is your bike stock?
What do your plugs look like?
What "adjustments" did the shop make?

You can clear tube the fuel level with the carbs mounted on the bike. Just put it on the center stand on a level surface and check at the centerline of the carbs - as depicted in the FSM's

Bike is stock exc for aftermarket turnout slip ons. (Jardine maybe)
Plugs were not sooty but on the darker side.
I believe carbs were synced and pms adjusted.
I know I can check the wet levels in the bike but will want to pull the carbs to properly adjust them.
I was really just curious if the symptoms were inline with out of spec fuel levels in one or more carbs? Possibly due to emulsion tube not aspirating fuel correctly.

95% of running issues with these bikes are down to fuel issues. Trying to pin down which issue from an internet description can be very hit or mis. The answer is to strip, clean thoroughly the tank and carbs, set float levels and throttle synch, mixture, and away to go. Which is why its an oft repeated mantra here "the church of clean".
More often than not there will be a blockage causing a misfire from weak fuelling. Very rarely do you get rich mixture issues, unless a jet has been incorrectly fitted or fallen off into the float well.

Thank you, appreciate your input. I think I’ll just remove the carbs and double check everything. I’ve had them out before. Not a big deal, just hoped it might have been an easy adjustment as it’s so close to running perfectly.
    Thanks again for all replies
