I've got a customer with an XJ700N, and it needed the carbs cleaned and whatnot. Well, when I tore it apart, the part that holds the cylinder 1 float stay, that tab that's built in, was broken, and previously bandaided. I tried to do a better bandaid, but I don't think the JB weld liked the ultrasonic cleaner, or that weakened it so the gas would it eat, or maybe I used the wrong JB weld. It wasn't the fuel tank repair, I didn't know about that until it was too late. At any rate, I need a cylinder 1 carb, and am curious if any other models use the same carbs. I'm hoping something uses the same body, so I have more options to search for parts.

Or if it's possible to make a cylinder 2 carb work in the spot for one? I doubt that you can unbolt or unscrew something and switch sides or anything. I'm quite certain that's not an option.

Unfortunately, the carb bodies of the HSC33 carbs used on the XJ700N are all unique - so you'd need to find a #1.

Try ebay. But you may need to buy the whole rack
If you search for bowl post repair I think you will find a couple of good examples.

You could also try to post in the "For Sale / Wanted" section on this site - see if somebody has a #1 body they are willing to part with. Worth a shot.

If you do get a full rack, you could probably do OK parting out all the other pieces.
