I've just bought a Project an xj from 89, and start dismatling it all, but I've got into problems regarding dissassembling the drive shaft, I need to take of the gimble drive from the tire. Anyone who can guide me in this.
First time with a MC with Gimble drive ?

    Hope for any guidance

Are you refereing to the final dive and differental ? To remove it pull the rubber boot on the left side to the rear of the bike . With a 12mm wrench and remove the four flange bolts . Pull the rear wheel , there are four bolts on the diff and the shock on the left side will need disconnected and diff should be wiggled out .

Crankshaft, driveshaft, gimble drive, differential, tire, rubber boot.....
Loads of missleading names for bits here.
The rubber boot is at the engine end.
The crankshaft is in the engine.
The gimble drive is not a differential, it's a crownwheel and pinion, also known as the final drive gear?
The tire or tyre in the UK, is on the outside of the wheel.

So, normally the wheel comes off when you pull the axle bolt out, some pulling on the wheel and wiggling frees it.
If you have problems with the final drive you can remove the four nuts holding the casting onto the swingarm, I believe the driveshaft will stay inside the swingarm? Outside of new oilseals I would suggest you just replace it, more faff and cost than its worth to repair.
Got any pics, they will help with the terminoligy
