84 xj750 rl tare down scrambler build opinions

Found a cheep 84 for winter project cost way too much to restore its in shambles.....luv the 750 gunna spend some money at cognito Moto....still would like to hear options/opinions

 

If you are going to remove any stock parts let me know and maybe post a few pics of what the bike looks like now.

Here’s a copy of add I’ll take some better pics once it’s on the lift.....she’s number 131 of the 600 in CAN by the vin....although I agree with trying to keep with the nostalgia. I don’t see a good path to that in its shape.....I’m better off helping anyone else who could use some of the oem stuff

IMHO these do not make good scrambler projects - you'll neen a new binnacle, headlight, tank, seat, and the tail and shaft drive will stick out like a sore thumb...
Why not make it into a naked front, new headlight and clocks from a 650 or modern new custom kits all you need?

 

Yeah those are the best looking XJ IMO. I like those wheels too. Tank looks decent, easy to pull out that big dent.

Oh, I missed that...... usually I check dates all the time, too

and since he hasn’t been seen in almost 4 yrs, you’re probably right.
