If you dont want to save them cut them off or lift the end and inject some WD40 in and pry and pull like mad but be carfull of the right side as there is a tube under the grip for the thotal cable. Befor you put any thing back on clean offALL WD40 use soap and watter to reintal as it will evaperate and leave no lube behind to slip on latter.

Try prying up the end and sticking a screw driver down there as far as you can to get some air in there and use as leverage. Sometimes it works, probably just have to cut them off. Hairspray works great to put them back on. Don't have to worry about anything not drying up in there and getting a spinning grip. I've used spray paint before in a pinch, but it makes a mess of your bars when you pull them off again.

I agree with yamyboy. Soapy water is the easiest for reinstallation. It dries and leaves no residue and is cheap. The stock grips you can roll up and peel off sometimes, but I've had to cut a few off, too. I guess it just depends on how stuck they are.

old school is contact cleaner spray,,,spray grip inside slip them on wet when they dry they stick...takes seconds going on you got to be quick they dry fast,,, I imagine if you got the plastic pipe in there an sprayed they would come off also,,,but I always cut em off an replace,,,,,,, if they don't go where you want em getem off an try again starting with a fresh spray they have to be wet,,,this works with dirtbikes type grips anyway.....Dan

Off -- if they're the old stock rubber ones - cut them off. Trust me - save yourself the grief. Left side is easy, throttle side - do it in several shallow cuts so you don't slice into the throttle sleeve.
If they're aftermarket ones -- whatever it takes my friend...

On -- my favorite trick has always been hairspray - slick as snot to get them on, then dries/hardens and helps hold them on (but not permanant - just a bit better than nothing).
