    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can explain to me the pieces that make up the starter button.
I went to start the bike and thumbed a hole. Looking down, I found the starter button on the ground, pushed it back into the hole, but nothing. And it stayed in so obviously there used to be a small spring behind it. Then it fell out, so also obvious, something used to hold it in place too. So I ordered a starter/horn button and received three pieces. I'm hoping, since I have the original plastic button, that I can use the new pieces to put it together somehow and avoid needing to get a whole new harness. I did try pushing the inside of the existing hole with a small screwdriver to see if that would make the necessary contact and magically let me start the bike, but that didn't work.
Several pictures attached. The little silver thingie, the gold spring, and the smaller black plastic piece are what came as the new button. The larger plastic piece is the old button. In one picture of the bike you can see a small hole peeking through the bottom. I'm guessing that was for a little lock screw that fell out which allowed the starter button to fall out?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Open up that housing.
The button is captured into a bracket that SHOULD be still inside your housing.
    That bracket can come apart.
Look at the circled parts in the attachement.
that bottom left part has a wire going to it (that I desolderer to remove and clean it)
The spring goes in between that part and the part on the top right of the circled parts
Sorry, I don't have a pic of the assembly.

hard to describe but it goes metal bracket, with button inside, then spring (thin part of spring on button side I recall). then back plate. the metal bracket wraps around the ends of the back plate which has the soldered wire. you want to pinch that bracket so it holds that back plate w/ the copper and wire. That bracket then screws onto the housing

Thank you very much, Melnic. For both the description and the picture, I really appreciate it.
As soon as I get a warmer weekend with a little time, I'll take the housing apart and see if I can assemble it with the new parts as you described.
