How can I keep my piston in the frame mounted master cylinder from getting stuck?

  1. Used 2400 grit sand paper in cylinder .

This has a fresh rebuild with a new piston and spring. Also, used the metal grease that was with the kit. Any possible solutions?.

I had to look up your profile and see that you might be talking about the Seca from master cylinder? Yes once they start to stick it will take some time and use to get them from sticking. Keep at it and maybe keep flushing the fluid for a bit longer as well. I don't know how much it is sticking, a lot, a little, full lock of the brake or just dragging?

Where did you apply the grease? It's meant to be used on the cable linkage on the outside of the maser cylinder, and only lightly.
Please either include the year and model (including sub-model; Seca/ Maxim) when asking questions, or edit your signature to list which machine(s) you have. There are dozens of differences across the XJ range.

FWIW, the master cylinder mounts to the fork triple tree, not the frame.
Did you clean and lubricate the brake cable?
