I grabbed a set of carbs out of the pile to rebuild for the '82 750J. I noticed the bowl drains had the dual sided castings which I haven't seen on the Maxim carbs before. Looking at carb pictures online, I see 750 Seca carbs with this feature. Inside they have these jets:

    #128 main
    #40 pilot
    #80 pilot air
    #225 main air

So they match in stock 750J jets except for the main fuel (#120 stock).

Are these the same HSC32 carbs as the Maxim with the main swapped out? Or are they for a Seca or something else? And does it matter?

I read on Len's carb description that the model number for the body is different for the Maxim and Seca. What, if any, differences are there?

You should be just fine. I have a spare set with the same bowls. So long as the jets and needles are right for your model.

Needles are the stock Y-13, but they have a shim washer installed. I believe there should be no shims to return to stock jetting.

Correct.....between that and the rather huge main fuel jets, someone sure had a desire to richen that mixture way up......
