i figured ya'll wouldn't mind me posting a non XJ bike. its still a yamaha i guess :p

this is by far the fastest bike i've ever ridden, spec sheet says 10.7@127ish and i believe it.

it has a header, muffler, cone filters

the broad powerband is awesome and i love that part about it. i already showed a new GSXR (i think it was a 600) what was up, sucks for him to be in his powerband he'll have to shift into 1st on the highway. i pulled him so hard in a pretty short race 60-120ish

the bike is heavy and you can really feel the weight in slow cornering and the brakes aren't great, but other than that its very stable and i like it a lot.

    i bought it "non-running" for 1k.

cleaned carbs, drained tank, new plugs, runs great.

That turned out to be one sweet deal. I like the color too.

I have to admit that the FJ is possibly one of my next projects/purchases. Ideally I would like to have a Yamaha for each of the purposes I want bikes for, and the FJ is about the perfect sport touring platform in my mind.

Looks good, I hope you enjoy it this season!

    Best Regards
    XJ750GUY

PS Make sure to watch out not to "punish" second gear, I believe the earlier FJ's had shifting fork/transmission issues sometimes, mostly due to neglect and aggressive/careless shifting

    congrads!

buying old project bikes for cheap only to do alittle work to have them running, is an awesome feeling

    good lookin yamaha too.

also, you have three gauges on your clock.. one for mph, one for tach, what's the other one for?
