I’m about out of the degreaser I’ve been using for the past year or so (Zep Orange Cleaner).

I did some googling this morning and almost bought some Oil Eater Degreaser (Amazon $14), but then found that LA “Totally Awesome” performed well in testing and Home Depot has it for around $10 shipped.

With too many choices I found myself stuck :D

    What’s your favorite degreaser?

I found some good ideas here:

Here’s the next thing I’ll be using it on. I think the shaft oil seal is leaking.

I like Super clean but once you are done using it, have to wash the surface really well and maybe hit it with some WD40 or a little oil spray. Don't let it sit on anything overnight, you will not like what it will eat, or clean.

Best degreaser, hands down, is L.A.'s Totally Awesome. And it's dirt cheap. You can usually find it at places like Family Dollar.

Zoot speaks the awesome truth; Awesome is Awesome. Strong irritating odor though, will get you all choked up if used in a closed area. Leaves a slightly "greasy" film. Cleans almost anything. Removes nicotine build-up like it never happened. Safe for plastics. A buck a bottle (or so) at discount outlets. Buy a dozen cases or two before all the discount outlets go out of biz......

“Totally Awesome” performed very well in the comparison tests I saw on YouTube. I’ll need to give it a try.

I’ve almost completely used the “oil eater” degreaser I bought. It worked very well everywhere I used it - all the way from the kitchen cabinets to bike parts.

I know exactly what you’re referring to chacal when you say most degreasers choke you up. “Oil eater” is the first degreaser I’ve used that doesn’t do this. It was a nice change :)

I’ll look for “totally fabulous” next!
