Just recently traded my 05 ninja 250 for a 82 maxim 650, my first 4 cylinder and my first shaft driven bike, 21k miles on the clock, and runs really strong, once this snow has passed I’ll definitely be posting more, IMG_2594.jpeg IMG_2597.jpeg

Welcome. Safety first have you changed the rear brake shoes?

Winter being the perfect opportunity to check / change them. Even if they look good, they might be originals and the bonding is time-expired anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bonding fails on all brake shoes and pads given enough time.

Also strange that with both of my XJ's, 85 & 86, the brake shoes were like new except for some wear. Bonding was full strength. Always check as all brakes evidently are not equal.
