1983 XJ900 brake rotors upgrade

    I need to change my front brake rotors I have OE vented which I understand only came out on the ‘83 model can anyone tell me is following year models are a direct replacement and if so what years.

    I am sure they all fit my 1991 900f has vented discs or rotors. The original 900 was an 853cc machine the later ones 891cc. The other difference was the fairing from handlebar mounted to frame mounted. Other that that and the ignition box I think they are the same.

    Hmmmmmmm, seems many of the online parts lookups are ditching fitment info on discontinued parts. Bummer, I liked the easy cross reference.

    According to what I can find on a few sites (never trust just one) these bikes shared the same rotors:

    Rotor: 31A-25831-01-00
    Rotor: 31A-25831-11-00

    1987 Yamaha Fazer 700 FZX700
    1986 Yamaha Fazer 700 FZX700
    1986 Yamaha FZ750
    1985 Yamaha FZ750
    1983 Yamaha Seca 900 XJ900R

    Poking around I see there are still some companies selling aftermarket. I have no experience with any of the brands however. Len will probably have more useful info!
