I have done small repairs and servicing over the years but wanted a proper project bike to see if I am capable of creating something working and nice so bought a non running XJ750
    IMG_2479.jpeg

    Went through the basics
    no spark
    No front brakes
    Clutch seems ok
    Back brake

looking at the wiring it appeared that a ham fisted gorilla with a crimp gun and domestic wiring had attacked it over the years.

As I am planning to remove the atari and simplify everything I decided to do a quick wire to see if I could get it to start.

Well it started so hopefully the project is a goer have now removed the carbs for a clean…

My plan is to add this thread to hopefully show progress

Good start, always a positive thing to have a running bike before you start to go through it. Looking forward to your progress.

Wow you have some pitting action going on with them jets. Not to sure how that happened? I don't know if I have ever seen pitting on the jet heads like that? I would say check with Len by email. Not too sure how much shipping to the UK would be, but he is always a great help.

I think it is hit or miss with the ebay stuff. You really have to trust the description and read it very well. For you that might be the best bet so that you are not hit with all the other fees you have mentioned.
