My winter project is to replace handlebar controls.
I’m unable to reuse the stock enrichment circuit lever. After trying a few universal ones, they unable to overcome the spring tension and hold levers at anyone position. Has anyone tried to modify stock lever or retrofit a system that works. ? I’m open to a mount just about anywhere (front forks, under tank etc.)

    Thanks for the reply Tim,
I tried something similar to that but it didn’t work. My issue is tension on the enrichment circuit rod is to close , unlike a choke that is static it will stay where ever you put it. I prefer not to undo the tension but just overcome it. NOTE: : after dismantling the stock lever, it was engineered with a serrated dome washer that applies pressure to maintain position the tighter the bolt is.
    Hope this makes since.

Have you tightened the screw under the lever? If not, do it. If so, and it still slides..... you may be missing the star/spring washer.

    Hogfiddles, thanks for your reply.
I wound up replacing all OE handlebar controls with sleek aftermarket ones The Electrical (,throttle, clutch cables) were pretty straight forward. Thus leaving me to figure out a solution to hold the enrichment circuit at any given point.against tension, Unlike the traditional choke system.
My current solution is a throttle controller that has a twist lock. It works great. Apparently these are frequently used in agriculture equipment. They are small and easily hidden under tank or near handlebars with some handmade bracketry.
    Sorry about the short Novel.
