    Hi gents,

This may be a very simple question for those experienced with electrical - so please bare with me.

Purchased an XJ, getting it on the road but it came with no wiring harness.

I am rewiring the bike with a complete new harness and an m-unit.

    Currently wiring the regulator rectifier.

I have all the whites from the alternator joined to the whites on the reg/rec. Same with the green.

    Black to ground.

I have red and brown from the reg/rec joined together going to the Alternator brown (field coil power) and this is then connected to fused key power from the battery +VE.

Can anyone see an issue with this?

Factory wiring diagram has two seperate circuits for this, but I can't see a reason to have two with the m-unit?

Red is hot all the time from the battery and brown is switched with the ignition....I don't know why but I would wire it the same as the factory did. If they would've been able to combine those connections into one they would've done it from the get go.
