I have rebuilt my callipers replacing all of the rubber. I can’t see any leaks. However despite two hours of using vacuum pump I cannot get an any resistance on the brake and still see bubbles.

    I have tightened everything.

    any ideas

What to do to start depends on which XJ you have. Your avatar looks like a 750 Seca which has the strange remote master cylinder down in the headlight area. My advice is to start the initial bleeding attempt by pumping the brake lever and holding it while just cracking the bolt at the master cylinder a couple of times. In a new, dry system that will often get the bleeding process started then you can move on to finishing out the bleeding more easily. I am not sure how easy that will be on you bike as I have avoided those master cylinders. Good luck!

If you have bubbles, and you have known leak of fluid, you are doing it right. It might take a long time to get all the bubbles out of the line. It can take a while. I take a wrench of screwdriver and tap the line as I pump the lever. It seems to help move the air in the line and help out a little.

Show us a pic of the MC you are having issues with.

It is my xj900f. Which has standard handlebar mc. I tried bleeding for about 2 hours and still had no resistance. I think air is getting in the bleed scre so am going to try some grease.

The bleeder threads are not tight fitting until tightened. Just crack it open when bleeding or air can get through the threads and make bubbles.

Bleed screw should be tight until the system has pressure on it. Using a clamp to hold the leaver in place works okay if you can't hold the lever and crack the bleeder fitting at the same time. Just a short open and then close it again before you let pressure off the lever.

You don't have any fluid coming out of the bleeder screw area, puck on the caliber or dripping from under the MC? You might have to watch a few vids on youtube to get the hand of of it. That or you might have to reverse bleed the system to get it to work.

You need to start at M cylinder. If its banjo fitting, put sleeve on bolt to plug, if its pipe thread, find threaded plug or plug hose.
