Regarding spark plugs and caps I have a Seca 900 and it seems there's conflicting information between the manual and XJ4ever. The manual suggest resistant spark plugs (BPR8ES) and no suggestions for caps. XJ4ever suggests non-resistant plugs (BP8ES) and 5k ohm caps. I'm currently running both resistant plugs (BPR8ES) and caps (5k ohm) and I'm having starting issues. So I have a few questions:

What's the definitive combination between plugs and caps? Which should contain the resistor?
What are the pros and cons of using non-resistant plugs AND non-resistant caps together?
What are the pros and cons of using resistors in both plugs and caps?
What should be the total sum resistance?

I'm currently running the original ignition coils which ohm out correctly. Battery is brand new. New air filter. Carbs have been church of cleaned. Also using original jets and emulsion tubes in the carbs. I am getting spark. Checked for leaks. When bike fires up it sounds and runs great.

Any other pertinent info regarding this topic is welcome. Thanks.

Hard starting HOT or COLD? I cant see BP8ES damaging electrical components to just try, if its just cold.

After you try BP8ES, try starting on prime.
