    Greetings ALL!

I've had a handful of posts here and there on this site trying to get my 81 XJ 550 set straight by advice given by a group of you kind and patient folks here.

Alas, I have lost the battle... Meaning... I'm done with my XJ.

It needs a starter and to be fully re-wired (due to where we stripped it to find the issues) but it's a solid engine and some of the other ancillary parts; airbox, carbs, etc etc...

As someone who depended on folks with 'parts bikes' laying around to help ME out wit MY issues as I navigated them, I'd love to find homes for these pieces as 'transplant organs' for YOUR bike... Not trying to get rich, just trying to find a way to pay forward the knowledge and to get pieces into the hands of folks who want/need them on their journey...Unfortunately my watch has ended.

I drove home today with a 2013 HD Sportster so the door has closed for me.

I voted "coward" just because its a hillarious poll!! But truly, the minute the bike isn't rewarding, whether riding it or working on it...move on. Life is too short and I don't think any of us are depending on our 45 year old bikes to make a living. Enjoy the Harley!
