    Hey everyone.

i first came her about 2008 (maybe before) with a 1981 550 maxim. it needed a lot of work because i didnt know squat when i got it. i sent the carbs to Rick (in new england i think) and then there was a guy who opened up a shop in Plymouth Michigan (90 miles away) who i took the bike to because i couldnt get it running. seems New England Rick put way too big of jets in. Rick (the Plymouth Rick) got it running within about 10 minutes of me dropping it off but i digress.

i then bought a 1982 750 seca. that was running and i rode it for a while before being forced off the road. no damage to the bike (already had 20+ years of garage dings and little scratches) while i was laid up with a torn meniscus and ACL, i drove about 45 miles, rented a box truck, drove another 100+ miles, picked up a 1983 900 seca, dropped it off at Plymouth Rick's shop, returned the truck and drove home. got home before my wife did and she didnt even know id gone and bought another motorcycle.

Plymouth Rick got that one up and running and i rode it for a while before leaving the fold for a 2001 Kawasaki ZRX 1200. after a couple of years i bought and then sold a 1994 Goldwing 1800 with a sidecar for my wife and daughter to ride with me. we didnt get enough use out of it so it was sold off.

my wife passed away this past June, my daughter lives almost 5,000 miles away, ive not been on a motorcycle since about 2017 and want to sell the Yamahas. the Kawi will probably go soon too but if anyone has any interest in those 3 XJs, let me know!

i guess the only way to add images is to use a 3rd party hosting site. i thought all forums got away from that years ago but anyway, here's the link to dropbox

Welcome back. I am sure the rest of the crew will join me soon in offering condolences. I would offer to say don't be too hasty in disposing of your bikes, the familiarity of them might grow to be a source of comfort. But for being out of use for so long they look well cared for.

My condolences as well, live keeps moving on and slaps us in the face now and then. Everyone goes through grieving in their own way, roll with it, the waves will come and go for some time.

As for the bikes, why part with them? I mean, you can always give me a hell of a deal on the ZRX1220R, but they might bring you some solace when you need it.

Again, sorry for your loss, take the time you need to process and don't make emotional life choices if you can help it.

Welcome back! Sorry for your loss. Be assured that while we can’t replace the loss, we are still one big ‘family’ here….. good to see you again.
