Wanted 83/4 XJ900 Fuel Tank

    I’m in Australia and am unable to locate a decent tank in this Country. I purchased two (one from England and one from another state in Aus) and both were totally rotted through. Ripped off.
    Australia won’t let anything in that hasn’t got paperwork for proper cleaning etc.
    I’m wondering if I can gut a 900 tank and use it as a cover over an XJ900 tank.

    I've been giving some thought to what I'd do if mine rotted out at the usual place - the rear bottom seams, where the water accumulates.
    I'd simply press the wings flat and braze them shut, cutting off the excess.
