I have had my 82 XJ Maxium for about 3 years now. Was going to sell it but waited and then it started to have problems.

Hard starting and other problems. After checking all the simple thing I pulled the engine and tore it down. Found the number one cylinder eroded near the base. Turned it over to my local dealer to part out as he saw fit.

Last week on the way home, I saw that he had another XJ750 out front....

25.00 and 12 hours later my 750 was running once more.

This site has been a great help.

    My stable includes :

    82 Maxium 750
    78 CB 750 f2 Supersport -98% stock
    92 Ninja 250
    84 Shadow 700
    85 Riva 180

Right on! I'm assuming you did a motor swap from the dealer's bike into yours.

Do me a favor and add yourself to the community map.

    Gamuru,

Thanks for pointing out the map - Added

Yes I swaped the only the engine. Had just cleaned my carbs and my frame/oyhers where in much better shape. I did pass some parts (front end) to my neighbor to help with his XS1100. He liked the adjustable bar setup on the Maxium.

Have kepy the fuel tank carbs electronics.
