    I am going to paint my xj700 soon and I am taking ideas on colors of paint on my xj. any ideas. Any sites to look at?

    I hear from many bikers that they like yellow because it's bright and visible to the caged drivers 8O . But never trust that they will see you and always practice defensive riding.

    I do like yellow but I also like many other colors so this would be tough to decide; candy apple red, plum purple, some shade of green... Are you going with metallic paint? Maybe check out some chopper sites or something and see if anything catches your eye?

    I am a firm believer in a high gloss black. Everything else goes great with black. Look at the Midnight maxim....beautiful.

    For the Maxim i would recommend a nice dark metallic blue.

    I did mine in a very dark non-metallic green and am very happy with it.
    I got to this decision by looking at cars as I drove around (could have looked at bikes I suppose) and this colour just appealed to me. It's a personal decision though. I was also thinking white might be interesting.

    orange can be good...not it now seems to be the new red.next for me is going to be a brilliant seafoam green with graphics...hey whats that they say about eye of the beholder

    I am currently in the process (planning) of changing my 84 XJ700 from its stock black to a metal flake copper I saw on a 4x4 truck build up show opn TV and will add dark blue graphics. Just want to change to see what it looks like. I have already repainted twice now and this will be the third.
