Would like to use my SECA for some longer distance rides and was wondering if anyone here has put on a windshield they could recommend. Would like something that fits the style of the bike.

Throwback I have been looking around for a little bit now for a sporty windshield for my XJ bike for longer trips and have decided to buy the Slip Streamer SS-28 Sport Fairing. The last thing I want is one of those to tall windshields you sometimes sell on big cursers.

Here is some info I posted on XJowners about windshields.

Thought I would add this as it applies to windshields. I was reading the January Issue of cycle world and in there service advice column where people write to the magazine and answer there questions someone wrote in with a question regarding windshield height. So the question was what is the proper height for a windshield and he contends that a rider should be able to look over his windshield for better visibility, especially when it is raining. But his friends prefer to look through their windshields. So what is the right.
MC. reply. Traditionalists would probably insist that it’s best for the top of a windshield to be positioned just below the rider’s forward line of sight. That way, the shield doesn’t interfere with the view of the road ahead, and at speed, most of the oncoming air is diverted over the rider’s head. A lot of other riders, however, like to ride in as much of a still-air pocket as possible, so they prefer a taller shield and don’t mind having to look through it rather than over it. There are drawbacks to both preferences. Riders who look over their shields usually still get hit with some wind turbulence and rainwater, depending upon the shape and angle of the shield. And since motor cycle windshields do not have wipers or washers, riders who look through their shields can have their forward vision impaired when riding in the rain be the accumulation of dirty water and road grime. The pick is what ever works for you.

I use a spitfire windshield. It's nice and small but it provides great wind protection for my chest. I found that the larger windshield was eating into my horsepower and was blocking visibility - especially when raining.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a full fairing that will bolt onto a 750 Seca?

I have a small Maier windshield. I like it because it keeps the wind off my chest but doesn't get in the way. Mine is $68.99 from Denniskirk but my dad just bought one for his XS850 over the summer and I think he found a spitfire that is the same but a little cheaper. Here is my bike with the windshield.

My XJ650 had a windshield when I bought it, but I took it off after a couple of days as I didn't like the idea of looking through it at all. I'd like to get another one, but I'm definitely in the "short windshield" camp.

Have you tried Ebay for the 750's fairing? Was a factory option made by a Canadian company (as I understand it). They're rarer than hen's teeth, but I scooped an NOS windshield for the fairing on Ebay a couple of years ago for just $80. Maybe not too hard to find the whole thing.

I went with the 15" Slip Streamer windshield for my bike. I wanted something where the june bugs wouldn't hit me at 55+mph and bruise my neck & chest. I am 5'10" tall, but with a short torso and a lowered seat and I look through the windshield, but if I arch my back I can look over it. 12" was too short as I tried that one. I am very pleased with it and have driven with it over a year. In NW Ohio, it was necessary as I drive year 'round if it's gonna be near 50 in the afternoon. Haven't you guys heard of RainX? I use that on my helmet shield and the windshield. No problems in the rain at all. I alos think it makes it easier for the jun bug goo to come off!

I hadn't even read this post before today, but I just put a Spitfire on my bike last week and I love it. It seems to be a popular choice. It really makes a difference in keeping the bugs off my face shield and the wind off my chest. It looks pretty good too. I got it off of Ebay for around $58.

this guy on ebay has 2 of them, don't recall if they come with the windshields or not, wouldn't be hard to make on if you know what your doing, if not there should be an aftermarket replacement for it. I know a few companies make replacements for the windjammer fairings, so the SECA shouldn't be any different
