Air Filter ??

    Here's a thought I had, If I was to take a regular car airfilter, say from a Honda civic, and trim it down(keeping the rubber sealing edges of course), so that it fit flat against the front wall of the air filter box, would it work?

    Basically instead of having a 'D' shaped filter, having a flat filter. Is this going to have any negative effect?

    kind of a weird thought... but why not? just make sure it doesn't change the amount of air too much or you'll be playing with all sorts of carb adjustments... but i say if you feel like it go for it... worst that can happen is you don't like it and switch back to a normal filter

    The exact same thing is done for the Kawasaki Voyager. It uses a flat filter but one that is expensive. $30 or better. Those guys use an auto filter that needs a 1/4 inch trimmed off the edge to fit. Works well for only $6.
