does the xj cd being sold for 10 bucks include the yamaha service manual usually sold for 80 bucks, it would appear so from the posts I have read just wanted to make sure it was the actual service manual and not some haynes junk.

The XJCD contains a pdf. file of the "real" factory service manual. Although, truth be told, the Haynes "version" of the XJ650/750 manual (and their XJ900 manual) is actually at least as good, and in several ways, better than the factory manuals, IMO.

xjmanuals...you sent the PM to me by mistake........

AND I WOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT DOWNLOADING MATERIAL FROM OVERSEAS..........SOMETIMES "PRICE" IS NOT THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS, THANKS.

just not a big fan of haynes they like to leave a lot of stuff out on car and truck manuals so I have a general dislike for them. Thanks for the responses

    I'll sound off,
Being that I have ownership of both the items mentioned, I'll offer my opinion.
I use the Haynes manual, used it since day one. Never had any problems with it.
I loaded the XJCD and found some very informative pictures and tidbits.

    My recommendation:
Purchase both, they are inexpensive and WILL pay for themselves.

Thanks Robert.......I say the ame thing in my ad, and am squeamish abotu recommending such a course of action, as it sounds like I'm just a greasy hard-sell salesma, but you are exactly right. 90% of the time my first reference book is the Haynes; and then the factory manual. And for those extreme-truth seekers, there is also actually some info in the owner's manual thta is not to be found in either the Haynes nor the factory service manuals,,,,,,,,

On a related note, I'm trying to consolidate a list of all known errors in the Haynes manuals (and the factory service manuals, too) so I can punlish a real "update" page(s) so that unsuspecting owners of such books can have a fighting chance. If anyone wants to send their list of errors to me---no matter how big or small (mis-spelled words or poor punctuation doesn't count!)----I'd appreciate it.
