I used to say I was still in my twenties, you know, 28, 29, 20-ten, 20-eleven, 20-twelve... Unfortunately when I hit 20-20 I figured people could see through my ruse. I guess 44 isn't all that bad as it beats the alternative.

Hey Alive - ya gotta celebrate every day, even the bad ones! I'm one of those smiling idiots you want to just smack because I am so happy to wake up every day. Used to feel like you do, but that will change when you hit Crisis Time (kind of like Amok Time but opposite) and you realize what it's all about.

"Live to ride, ride to live" and lovin' your gal doesn't hurt either.

It's just the birthday thing is not what it used to be... I get excited about other things these days like the new addition to our family due in July :)

I haven't been asked for ID at a bar for a long time now. It must be all the light black (grey) hair on my head and moustache. 47. Me and my better half have have been together for 27 years now. I still love her to death! I just got her a new front tire. Oh yeah, I'm married with three kids and three dogs.

"light black hair"... LOL!!... Good one, Ranger
And nothing says love like a new cycle tire. Gotta try that with my own wife.

BTW, I passed 60 not long ago. Lord, I am now officially an old fogie (sigh). Kinda explains why motocross racing is totally over for me, doesn't it? And why I'm now so fond of electric starters on my bikes.

wow, this included alot of replies... that's a first for any of my threads..

great to see such a rounded age of people, anywhere from 16 to 66!

and for some of the older folks, who complain of pains.. I played HARD as a kid / teen. I skated (both board and inline) and am now feeling the pains of all those falls and biffs i did.

but i wouldn't have traded those in for nothing, life experience wins always.

Freshly 24 here, as of a week ago. Feeling the fresh air and sun on my skin riding, planning on many more years too. :) I ride with a mature group of 7 or so riders all over 40, one of which being my father, and help organize trips with my young youth technology on Google earth and what not. ;) Hand built my 91 civic top to bottom, and my maxim. Engines & mechanical get me revved up. Dream re-build? '68 Camero SS.

I'm 48+, with 3 '82 650 Seca's, a '77 Yamaha 500 and an '87 Suzuki 850. A Goldwing and a 750 Honda round out my list of current/past bikes, and I plan to stay with my stock Seca. Gotta admit that some folks make some nice looking machines when they put their immagination and wrenches to work, but I lack both.

I'm a new member - and plan to stay for the good info.

    48 and I've been riding since I was 17.

I had to hide my first bike at my friend's house because my parents wouldn't let me have a bike. They didn't find out I rode until I was 21 and in the Navy.

I picked up the Seca for $600 a couple of years ago. It didn't look good, but ran well. I figured it will be a good bike to eventually teach my son on. He just turned 12 and wants badly to ride a street bike. He wants to ride my R6, but that's not gonna happen.

25 born and raised in Syracuse, NY. That makes 4 of us pretty close to one another-maybe I'll come whining to one of you guys if I need some help with her.

And I didn't list it in my intro but here is my entire list of bikes in order of acquired:

1972 Yamaha DS7 (Complete but bad shape-donor bike at this point)
1972 Yamaha DS7 (Beautiful-just needs some internal carb work and new tires)
1983 Honda Nighthawk 550SC ("Free" bike that has been anything but-taught me that good old quote)
1978 Yamaha XS 750 Special (Complete, 3000 miles, just needs everything gone through and gas tank de-rusted)
    1978 Honda CB400A Hondamatic (Eh...weird)

    And after tomorrow:
1981 Yamaha XJ 550 (Runs perfect, does everything perfectly, most perfect thing ever...sure.)

Oh and I'm not a guy that goes after brand loyalty in the slightest but I've got quite the yamaha/honda collection going at this point.

The biggest hurdle for all of these machines? Aside from $? The fact that none have a title. Doesn't matter for the 72's, but getting a title in NY state has proven to be a ripe pain in the ass. Any of you folks deal with similar issues and if so how were you able to get around it?

This place looks better and better the more I read.

Hey Tubabone....I play a BBflat in a local concert band here in the Columbia River Gorge!

Im 45, bought my '80 XJ650 not long ago, and my helmet came today! woo hoo! (problem with living in the sticks sometimes, having to order stuff).

State of Oregon 'lost' my motorcycle endorsement. So have just enrolled in a Safety Course....might as learn right. And bike is running better and better.

Rick, I am going to do the carb cleaning, my brother inlaw talked to a local tech that is going to let me help, I just have to build a computer for him (his parts). But its going to get done....including adjusting the valves.

23 yo in queens, NY. this is my first bike, bought last summer. Rode it till the winter then took it apart down to the very last bolt a little after new years. The frame is now completely assembled, wiring in place, welded up a mount for a little chopper seat, and painted the whole thing flat black. Engine is back together minus the cylinders and heads which are going back on tonight. I wouldnt be this far into it without help from this site.
