ok guys, i cleaned my carbs last weekend, the bike starts and runs good and it idles now! however when riding and you twist the throttle it seems like it takes a second for the speed to build up, it also revs high when the clutch is pulled in to downshift. i am sure i missed something but??? and no i did not sync the carbs, any ideas on what to check first? Thanks in advance.

Start there! Out of synch carbs can cause all sorts of problems. Once all the basics are accomplished (valve clearances checked and adjusted, carbs synched, and then the idle mixture screws adjusted properly, only THEN can you really diagnose problems such as you describe (assuming that any or all of the above doesn't take care of the problems!).

Sounds like it's missing... I think.

Try syncing the carbs as said, do you have the stock metal plug caps?
Caused me some trouble... grounding off the motor.
