no more electrical tape and newspaper for me, this stuff is the shnit
sticks to most clean smooth surfaces and itself
doesn't get all messed up coming out of the box like plastic wrap
just right for on the bike touch-ups

Do you use it to mask for painting?

yea a little under the seat frame touch-up, it molded right into all the little nooks and crannys and was wide enough to fill in the bigger areas without newspaper

Very clever! I love press n seal. I've stopped digging around the cupboards looking for lids for our plastic bowls. I just cover the bowl with press n seal instead. Saves lots of time, and sometimes even works better. I'll bet it would work for screen printing too.

How does it hold up to the paint though? No bleed? No 'melting' from the solvents? If it works, that's amazing!

Model builders have been using a product like this for over a decade! Back in the early 1990's it was known as Parafilm M and was used in labs to seal test tubes and beakers. Model builders found it was a wonderful masking material as you could stretch it over a surface and then cut intricate camo patterns to spray. Eventually one of the consumer product manufacturers decided that they could sell it as a souped-up plastic wrap also and the price per square inch came way down.

Yeah, that was why I asked if it worked as a paint mask. I have some in the pantry but the kind I have (Glad Press n Seal) is not quite so smooth as say, Saran Wrap. Sounds like it will work, though. Thanks for the great tip!

Wow, that's way easier than masking paper and tape. Thanks man!
