Every so often there will be a post about how some people remove the fairing that came on there at purchase because they don't look cool or they don't feel they offer the same level of freedom as without.

I left the house at 5:30 pm for my commute of 54 miles through rural SoDak. 42 of those miles were spent bucking a 35 MPH headwind with 45 MPH gusts. I thanked God for 80s engineering that went into the Vetter Fairing slicing the air in front of me. These wonders of yesterday decrease the fategue factor so much.

As I've said many times, here in SoDak the wind blows constantly into face no matter which direction you are headed. All you others from the upper midwest prairie know what I'm talking about.

If you have considered adding one of these noses to your bike, do it. You will be able to cover more miles with less discomfort than you ever thought possible.

I haven't done much riding here in Alberta yet but I know what you're talking about with that wind. It can get nasty. It moves across the land like a freight train with no geographical features to stop it. Theres no protection on the maxim, not even a wind screen. Should be fun.
