I had my carbs cleaned out last week and got the last few things done to be able to ride my bike but even after I put the new air intake boots on my bike just wouldn't quite idle. Above 2000 RPM it was great, just had to keep giving it gas. Of course getting it into first was about impossible because below 2000 it would die. I went over the fuel lines and looked for leaks etc.....nothing wrong. Well I called my mechanic friend back who cleaned the carbs. Since I had gone all the way up from carbs to fuel line to filter the only thing left was petcock. Sure enough we took it apart and there was a little bit of hard something stuck right in the outlet. It let gas through so it looked good but not fast enough so it starved the carbs.

Long story short, cleaned it and now she is running!! So if your bike is running lean and won't quite idle it may be worth having a look at that petcock.
